A New Level of Assassination

Hi, my name is Karie, and I am addicted to buying “pretty” plants.  What can I say?  I am a sucker for unique flowering plants, even more so if they smell nice too!  Oh yes ma’am (and sir too) I cannot resist the urge to impulse buy!

If you have been into our store recently, you may have noticed the AMAZING Almond Verbena outside the backdoor.  I came across this gem a year or so ago, and was wooed by her sweet scent and dainty white flowers and HAD to have one.  I took it upon myself to buy her and bring her home, and as is my custom, into a large pot she went on my back patio!

**Sidebar here, I like to just sneak these bigger plants home and put them in pots before Peter knows what I am up to.  He tends to be the voice of reason, so I have found it is easier to get forgiveness than permission. SO, plant purchased and potted!  Too late to talk me out of it now!  **

Back to my lovely Almond Verbena!  Oh she looked to happy in my big green pot right outside my door, and actually seemed to be thriving.  Blooms galore!  New growth!  She even out grew her pot and had to be transplanted into the flowerbed. YES, I am awesome!  UNTIL…..holes in the leaves!  I inspected the plant from head to toe, and holes holes holes.  All I could think was caterpillar.  SO, I trimmed off the mutilated limbs, watered, loved, and crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.  Still more holes.  What is going on??!!  Then one day I went out and saw this…

BUSTED!!  Harper had been EATING my plant!!  Apparently I am not the only one that cannot resist….and assassinate the “pretty” plants!
