Can you grow bluebonnets in your lawn?

Yes, you can!  Bluebonnets prefer sunny, well-drained areas.  Find that spot in your yard and mow the grass really low.  After mowing rake any loose grass and thatch.  It’s best if you have a few bare spots.  If you can wait sow the seeds after a good rain.  Leave the area undisturbed all winter —no mowing.  The bluebonnets will be up in the spring, after they set seed go ahead and mow the area–this will scatter seed for the next year.
