Making the Bed

My husband Nick attended Texas A&M and was a part of the Corps. Everyday they had to make their beds (Anita, my mom never made me make my bed). So how does this apply to Gardening you may ask…don’t worry I have some great analogies coming your way! Your bed frame can be anything from a pot, treated lumber, a simple mounding of soil, cinder blocks, milk crates, basically anything to hold your bed together.  A good bed starts with a good mattress, my garden mattress is good rich soil.  Next you have your warm snuggly quilt of mulch, did you know that Anita is a quilter?! Lastly you have your plants the decorative pillows on the bed. These give your bed personality and life. Be sure to get out and make your bed for Fall Gardening!
