To paraphrase a popular movie; if you plant them they will come. Plant a garden full of blooming plants and you will have a garden full of butterflies. The first plant pictured here purple Porter Weed is considered one of the best plants for butterflies. The next two plants are Penta’s they come in a variety of sizes and colors and run a close second. Nearly all tubular flowers such as this pink Mexican Cigar Plant, Salvies and Lantanas are favored by butterflies (and hummingbirds). But really, any flowering plant will attract butterflies, I’ve even seen them feeding on Canna’s.
