We’ll put fire in your gut, the mo in your jo and the dirt under your nails … get down and dirty with us at the Garden Gala! Spend a day in the garden with us and learn how to improve your health, spirits, home, and your bottom line. Whether it is increasing the curb appeal of your home, growing your own veggies or improving your health, there are ALWAYS positive benefits to gardening.  Premium Koi will also be flown in for our traditional “Koi Race”.  Everyone lines up to race out to the fish tanks at  9:00 a.m. to get first crack at the Premium Koi we bring in just for the Garden Gala.  Come on out and join the fun.

Saturday Speakers begin at 9:00 a.m.

Hydroponic Production in an Urban Environment  9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Brenda from VegOut! Farms will speak on growing your own greens hydroponically—that means NO DIRT and therefore minimal washing!  Find out if having fresh greens available all the time is for you!  Afterwards, join Brenda at her VegOut! Farm Stand and sample some of her yummy veggies. You can buy them too!

Our featured speaker for the Garden Party is Dan Millikin.  Want to learn how to avoid using harmful chemicals in your yard?  Dan Millikin, head gardener at the McGovern Centennial Garden in Houston, will show you how to successfully garden organically, growing food, flowers and fauna.

All About Bees  2:00 p.m.

Lauren Ward, Master Gardener and Beekeeper from BeeWeaver Honey Farm will be here to tell us all about bees and their importance in the garden.  There will be plenty of time for questions about all things bees & honey. Since 1888 the Weaver family has produced honey & bees in the Brazos Valley. BeeWeaver is headquartered in Navasota, TX, just northwest of Houston. We are so excited to have here here at the Garden Gala!
