Did you know that Tomatoes were once called “Love Apples”? It’s so very appropriate that the first day to plant tomatoes outside it the day after February Valentine’s Day!
Why February 15th? It’s official last average freeze date. Now just because WE say it’s an official date, doesn’t mean Mother Nature thinks it’s the last day we’re going to have a freeze! She’s got her own agenda, obviously. But on average, MOST years we won’t have a freeze in the Gulf Coast Area after the 15th of February.
