Whew!

It did not freeze Tuesday night!  Big sigh of relief, an April freeze (though unlikely) can happen.  I remember one back in the 80’s.

In my vegetable garden, cucumbers and squash seeds that have sprouted are safe!  Did you know that we harvest a pumpkin(s) every June from our compost pile?  Yes, seeds leftover from Halloween sprout and grow.  Based on that experience, I have planted butternut squash seeds and they have sprouted!  My mother used to serve baked butternut squash with a little pool of melted butter, yum!  Butternut squash is also delicious roasted and make into a bisque, you’ll find lot’s of recipes on the web. Who knew that fall veggies would grow here in the spring?
