It’s not too late…..

………to plant vegetables.  Yes even though it’s almost mid November here along the Gulf Coast you can vegetable garden right through the winter.  For example, lettuce can be planted in “waves” and can even be grown in your bog filter.  And there is still time to plant kale, collards, swiss chard and all those healthy greens that we are supposed to eat everyday!  There is still time to plant members of the cruciferous family, or in other words the cabbage family–cruciferous is a word used by those smarty pants botanists.

And several herbs are also evergreen right through the winter, parsley and cilantro come to mind.  All of these veggies are super healty and good for you, so what’s stopping you from fall and winter gardening?  garden-tips-002
