Have you ever heard plant people talk about variegated plants and weren’t sure what they were talking about? If so, just remember at one time, those smarty pants didn’t know what variegation is either! Here are some images of variegated plants, can you see a pattern here? Yes variegated plants all have splotchy, spotty, stripey, or splattered leaves and/or flowers. A variegated plant is always “in bloom” meaning those splotchy leaves always add a splash of color. This can be especially important in a shady garden where there are few choices when it comes to blooming plants.
