What do you do with a…..

Tall Skinny pot?  Or a really large pot?  First of all in most cases you don’t need to fill the entire container with soil.  The soil adds weight and can stay too wet for the plants.  So what do you do?  You recycle that’s what!  Simply fill the pot 1/2 to 2/3 with empty soda cans (turned upside down so they don’t fill with water or empty water bottles!  Then fill with the soil mix of your choice!

I planted this pot with “Mother of Thousands” also know as “Alligator Plant” Kalanchoe spp. and “Silver Falls” Dichondra argentea.  Because I used succulents I shouldn’t need to water this container very often.
